Latin America: Paraguay
A 10% tip for waiters is common. Tip more if you're really pleased with the service. Tip the same in bars, but if you're in a small local joint, just round up the bill to the nearest thousand guarani. In hotels tip the maids the equivalent of US$2 per day or US$5 to US$10 for a week's stay. Tip porters the equivalent of US50¢ per bag and doormen the same for hailing you a cab. At a gas station tip the attendant the equivalent of US30¢ for full service. Ushers and coat-room attendants get the equivalent of US10¢ to US30¢ per service.
