Romanians themselves don't tip, but in restaurants a tip of 10% to 12% is expected of foreigners. Give the tip to the waiter or cashier - don't leave it on the table. Tip taxi drivers 5% to 10% of the fare. Hotel bellhops should be tipped US$1 to US$2. Tip airport and train station porters US$2 for a few bags. Tips in U.S. dollars are accepted everywhere.
