Europe: Ireland

If a 12% service charge has been added to the restaurant bill, no additional tip is necessary, unless you'd like to reward excellent service with an additional 5% tip. If no charge has been added, tip at least 10% of the bill. It's not customary to tip barmen in pubs, but you should tip waiters in bars and hotel lounges or Dublin lounge bars about €7.65. For most trips, tip the driver 10% of the fare. For longer trips, where you've negotiated the price with the driver, no additional tip is necessary. Tip hotel porters €.65 per bag; tip €1.30 per bag in luxury hotels.
