Give waiters a 10% to 12% tip for good service. In hotels, although maids and room service staff are not tipped unless they provide some extra service, you should tip porters $A1 (1 Australian dollar) per bag. Tour guides and drivers don't expect tips, but you can contribute to a collection being taken in the group for a tip. Taxi drivers don't expect tips, but leaving small change for your fare is nice.
