Tipping in hotels and restaurants is generally up to you, but some high-end establishments add a service charge to the bill. In restaurants if there's no service charge, tip waiters 10%. In hotels tip porters and other staff who have been attentive during your stay at least B20 (20 baht) at the end of your stay. In Bangkok tip taxi drivers by rounding the fare up to the nearest B5. Elsewhere, it's not necessary to tip taxi drivers unless you have hired them privately for an excursion.
